SHIPPING & DELIVERY
QWhere do you ship?
We currently ship throughout the European Union, with Germany as our home base. Select drops may be available for shipping to the UK, Switzerland, and other European markets — availability is noted on each product page. For inquiries about shipping outside these regions, please contact support@suldok.com.
QCan I track my order?
Yes. Once your order ships, you'll receive a confirmation email with a tracking number and a link to follow your delivery. You can also view tracking details anytime under MY → Orders.
QDo shipping fees vary?
Yes. Shipping fees depend on your destination, order weight, and the fragility of the item (our ceramic vessels are packed with protective materials). Exact fees are calculated at checkout before payment. Some drops or membership tiers may include free or reduced shipping.
PAYMENTS
QWhich payment methods do you accept?
We accept major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) and PayPal. Additional local methods such as Klarna or Sofort may be available at checkout depending on your region.
QWhen will I be charged?
For standard orders, payment is processed at the time of purchase. For pre-orders or upcoming drops, you'll be charged when you place the order to reserve your item, unless otherwise stated on the product page.
QCan I change payment after ordering?
Once an order is placed, the payment method cannot be changed. If you need to correct a payment issue, please cancel the order (if it hasn't shipped) and reorder, or contact support@suldok.com for assistance.
MEMBERSHIP
QWhat is membership access?
Suldok membership gives you early access to limited drops, members-only products and events, curated content from our Magazine, and occasional shipping or pricing benefits. It's designed for people who want a deeper connection to Korean drinking culture and our releases.
QAre all drops available to everyone?
No. Some drops are open to all customers, while others are reserved for members or offered to members first before a general release. Each drop's access level is indicated on its page.
QCan I cancel my membership?
Yes. You can cancel anytime under MY → Membership. Your benefits remain active until the end of your current billing period, and you won't be charged again after cancellation.
RETURNS & REFUNDS
QCan I return a product?
Yes. As an EU-based retailer, we honor your right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days of receiving your order, in line with EU consumer law. Items must be unused and in their original condition and packaging. To start a return, contact support@suldok.com.
QWhat if my item arrives damaged?
Because our vessels are ceramic, we take great care in packaging — but if your item arrives damaged, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos of the item and packaging. We'll arrange a replacement or full refund at no cost to you.
QHow long do refunds take?
Once we receive and inspect your returned item, refunds are processed within 5–10 business days to your original payment method. Processing times may vary depending on your bank or payment provider.
PRODUCTS
QAre the ceramic vessels handmade?
Many of our vessels are handcrafted by Korean artisans following traditional ceramic methods, so slight variations in form, glaze, and texture are natural — each piece is one of a kind. These details reflect the authenticity of the craft rather than defects.
QHow do I care for my vessel?
We recommend hand-washing with mild soap and avoiding sudden temperature changes. Most pieces are not dishwasher- or microwave-safe unless stated otherwise on the product page. Detailed care instructions are included with each item.
QDo you sell the alcohol itself or only the vessels?
Our current focus is on authentic Korean ceramic drinking vessels. Where alcohol is offered, sales comply with German and EU regulations, and age verification (18+) is required at purchase.
EVENTS
QWhat kind of events do you host?
We host tastings, ceramic and drinking-culture workshops, and curated gatherings that introduce Korean drinking traditions to European audiences. Events are held in Berlin and other European cities, with details announced through our Magazine and to members first.
QHow do I register for an event?
Registration is available on each event's page under EVENT. Some events are open to all, while others are members-only or have limited spots. Members often receive early access to registration.
KOREAN ALCOHOL & CULTURE
QWhat is makgeolli?
Makgeolli is a traditional Korean rice alcohol — a lightly sparkling, milky-white drink made by fermenting steamed rice, water, and nuruk (a Korean fermentation starter). One of Korea’s oldest alcoholic beverages, it is typically lower in alcohol than distilled spirits. Where alcohol is offered, sales are 18+ and comply with German and EU regulations.
QWhat is the difference between soju, yakju, and cheongju?
They are different categories of Korean alcohol. Soju is a clear distilled spirit. Cheongju and yakju are clear rice wines refined from the same fermentation as makgeolli — cheongju is the clear liquid drawn from the fermented mash, while yakju traditionally refers to a refined rice wine. Makgeolli, by contrast, is the unrefined, cloudy version of that same brew.
QIs Korean rice alcohol gluten-free?
Traditional makgeolli and clear rice wines are made primarily from rice, which is naturally gluten-free, but recipes vary and some use wheat-based nuruk or added ingredients. If you have a gluten sensitivity, check the ingredient list on each product page or contact support@suldok.com before purchasing.
QHow should I store and serve makgeolli?
Unpasteurized makgeolli is a living, fermented drink — keep it refrigerated, serve it well chilled, and gently swirl the bottle to mix the settled rice sediment before pouring. It is traditionally served in a small bowl or cup and enjoyed fresh. Please drink responsibly.
QCan I pair Korean alcohol with non-Korean food?
Yes. While makgeolli pairs naturally with Korean dishes like jeon (savory pancakes) and stews, its gentle sweetness and acidity also work with cheese, charcuterie, fried foods, and fresh seafood. Pairing notes are included on individual product pages.
QWhat is nuruk?
Nuruk is a traditional Korean fermentation starter — a cake of grain that cultivates the wild yeasts and molds used to ferment rice into makgeolli and other Korean alcohols. It is central to the flavor and character of traditional Korean brewing.
